By accident this colour magic site, launched on the 1st May, has remained neglected. We are almost upon the time when we launch the next colour site in the series, yellow magic, yet we remain without a single article posted. In part this has been because both myself and Lolita, the main contributors to these colour sites so far, have not only moved home, city and country but also had a close family wedding to attend during this time.
Our successful move of home comes as a positive result from many magical workings all with slightly different aims, but one of which certainly includes the series of colour magic workings that culminated in the KIA Wealth Magic video sigil.
Or perhaps I should argue that the long wait from this site’s launch to me actually posting some content has been to create anticipation. None the less, however valid our excuses, the silence does seem to symbolically reflect the difficulty faced in talking about this subject matter. Why should this subject prove difficult to talk about? Assuming that as magicians social taboo no longer holds us back what does?
The English language might be the first culprit. The word ‘sex’ itself proves vague and poorly defined. We use it to mean so many different things. From physical gender to the process of sexual reproduction and to the many and varied sensual practises that stimulate pleasure. In a magical sense we mean all of these, but given that purple lies opposite black magic, the magic of death, in the chaosphere, we face the implication that purple implies strongly the act of creation. Particularly that of the creation of new life.
In a magical sense we could see that this relates to the creation of an individual thought-form or servitor, in the way that Green Magic may relate to Egregore formation. Or we may simply think of this as relating to our various artistic or creative projects.
However to limit purple magic to simply the act of creation would be to risk sanitising it, making it ‘safe’ for mass consumption. It risks tacit agreement with those moralists that try to demonise ‘sex for pleasure’ as a sin, calling it a corruption or even perversion of its natural purpose, which they see as solely for the creation of children. This absurd notion ignores the fact that the human generative organs also serve as organs of intense pleasure generation. It especially ignores the simple fact that the human female has an organ of no purpose other than the generation of pleasure, namely the clitoris. It has been noted that the human clitoris serves no purpose in reproduction at all. Of course the act of creation doesn’t have to imply the birth of the new human infant, we can instead create bliss through sensual stimulation.
But how does all this relate to magic? Well for one, the altered states of pleasurable consciousness one can reach through sensual practises, including but not limited to the experience of orgasm, can, has and will continue to be used by the more hedonistic magicians, sorcerers and mystics throughout the world, whether practising as couples, in groups or alone. In addition we also employ many magical techniques for the calling forth of a creative muse, or a creative daemon or genius, or generating ideas. Also we can simply see purple magic as the sphere in which we cast magic with the aim of improving or sex life, of creating interesting sexual encounters. Finally, perhaps one of the most rewarding things we can do for ourselves in life, is to confront our own sexual nature and become honest about what we really desire sexually. Do we desire the same sex, the opposite or both? What fetishes really turn us on and really turn us off? Perhaps all this sickly sweet talk of pleasure turns you off if what you really want is pain?
All these things and more we aim to explore here on the purple magic site. Hopefully this intro has sufficiently broken the ice and greater stimulating content will follow…
